Chest X - Ray Mass Survey of Pregnant Women during Antenatal Care

Abstract
|
|
|
The present study is to report the results of a survey of tuberculosis case finding by means of routine chest roentgenography of 6,921 pregant women during antenatal care seen at the Yonsei University Severance hospital from January, 1967 to December 1970.
1) The incidence of positive X-Ray evidence of pulmonary tuberculosis was 1.68%.
2). The annual incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in pregnant women by age group showed. ,moo significant difference.
3) 98 eases of 116 pregnant women with active pulmonary tuberculosis revealed minimal active tuberculous lesions and 18 cases moderate active pulmonary, tuberculous lesions. But far advanced- pulmonary tuberculous case was not present.
4) 16 of 39 active tuberculous patients in 1970 was new cases.
5) In 3 cases of 39 active pulmonary tuberculous patients in 1970 AFB was positive.
